Garland police are searching this morning for a dark-colored car that is believed to have caused a fatal accident in which a motorcyclist lost control of his bike and was run over by an 18-wheeler.
Charles King, 72, of Dallas, was killed just before 11:30 p.m. Thursday on westbound Interstate 635, near Centerville Road.
Witnesses told police that King and another motorcyclist were traveling together when the car bumped King's bike, causing him to fall into the truck's path.Police said King was not wearing a helmet.
WFAA-TV reported that King was a well-known community activist and a member of the Keller Rat Pack, which organizes motorcycle runs for charity groups.
